Solar energy company Absolicon is participating as an industry partner in the TIES research program at Högskolan i Gävle, which will develop sustainable and resilient industrial energy systems.The program has been granted SEK 43.5 million from KK-stiftelsen over eight years. Together with co-funding from the university and the companies, the total investment amounts to around SEK 113 million.Absolicon is contributing at least SEK 0.6 million in the form of working time and expertise, according to a press release.The research work includes, among other things, energy storage, hydrogen solutions, carbon capture, AI-based decision support and fossil-free process heat. For Absolicon, the initiative is a way to strengthen expertise in industrial solar heat and the energy transition.
